Join us for a unique hiking experience near Mt. Olympus, walking on the paths that Alexander the Great and his army followed, while heading to Thessaly, Greece
A daily hiking activity in an ancient path that, according to the history, Alexander the Great used to move his army when going to Thessaly in Ancient Greece. It is an easy trekking route that will allow you to see Olympus, the highest mountain of the Greece, and also the mountain of Kissavos.
Our hiking activity will start from the theater of Omologio, using a 4X4 Jeep. We will use a dirt road for 5 km that will lead us to the starting point of our hiking tour. After about 100 meters we will cross over a path from the top of a rock, a little bridge and we will complete the first part of our tour in a magnificent natural viewpoint in the Ampelakias garden, where we will also have our picnic.
After taking a lot of photos, we will continue our adventure tour in this historical path, approaching a special rock: you will notice a lot of names carved on that rock, some of them are there for centuries , signed by hikers of the past, warriors, shepherds... Afterwards we will go back to our jeeps and will visit another unique location: a special church that is built inside a rock.
During our way back, we will have the option to visit and swim in the healing fountain of Kokkino Nero (Red Water).
You can combine this tour perfectly with our daily canoe tour at the Delta of Pinios river or our rafting tour at the Valley of Tempe!
