Explore one of the most breathtaking locations of Northern Greece with our experienced guides. Hike the Portitsa trail and enjoy this unique scenery.

Spileo village is a historical site, situated in the “balcony” of mountain Orliakas. For its habitants, living in nature is a common thing, whereas for the visitors can be an astonishing discovery. Portitsa’s beauty and the special features of the area have been recognized from the state which declared it as a “site of historical importance and particular natural beauty”. It is a fact that Portitsa is the only gorge worldwide with an old stone bridge at its entrance.

Spilaio will be the starting point of our hiking activity, in a path that locals used it for centuries, in order to access the springs of Venetikos river. We will reach the Portitsa valley and the stunning old stone bridge that stands proudly at the entrance of the canyon. There are also two giant rocks standing  (resembling the ancient Symplegades Rocks) at the entrance of the Portitsa gorge that complete the magnificence of the scenery. We will have a stop to enjoy the view and then return to the village using the old stone path.

You can combine this activity with our other tours in the nearby Meteora area!
