Want to transmit the magic of the river? Do you know what the rafting guide is?
It is the person who takes six or eight people who will try rafting for the first time (or some of them may have done it before) and is responsible for showing them the basic skills they need to have a safe descent of the river. In short, the person who has been trained and certified as a rafting driver and will inspire safety on the rafting customers. The guide’s performance will determine whether the participants will visit other rivers as well or they will not participate again in a rafting tour.

This education is organized by Metavasi and Greek Adventure in Ioannina and Grevena.
School Duration: 5 days (50 – 60 hours)
Dates: Sunday 07 April to Thursday 11 April 2019 / 07.04 and 08.04 (Ioannina / Voidomatis) and 09 April to 11 April (Grevena / Venetikos II and Aliakmonas I)
You will learn:
- Rafting techniques
- Rafting guide paddles, Ferry Glide, Eddy Entry – Exit, Hydrography, Recognizing the effects of rushing water, Handling rafting in difficult conditions,
- Rafting crew training
- Introductory lesson, Crew crew positions on the raft, Crew lugs, Crew-driver relationships, etc.
- Safety and Rescue Techniques
- Swimming, Walking in the shallow waters, Lifting rope rescue, Restoring the boat in case of overturning, Knots, Anchorages, Pulleys, Diagonal ropes, etc.
