The Holy Monastery of Kipina is one of the most impressive monasteries in Greece!
Built entirely inside a rock, on a steep slope over the Kalarrytikos River, in Tzoumerka, Epirus. It was founded during the 13th century and is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
The visitor is fascinated by the stunning beauty and the magnificence of the surrounding mountains and landscapes and is impressed by the way this monastery has been built literally inside the rock. It is dominated by a sense of indulgence in which the scent that characterizes the monastery contributes, as well as the wall paintings dating back to the 17th century. You can visit the monks’ cells, preserved flawlessly, the reception areas and the living room, and of course admire the stunning views that surround the area.
